    A one day class in carving a wooden spoon from a green wood blank.

  • Woodworking Router Seminars

    Half-day classes presenting uses of the router, from basic operations to a variety of special fixtures that extend the capabilities of this versatile machine.

Intermediate Woodworking – Traveling Tool Chest

Ages: 14-Adult (students under 18 must register with a parent or guardian also taking the class)

Dates: Mondays, Sept 14-Nov 30 | 6:15-8:45 pm

Instructor: Erik Mortensen

Tuition (includes $275 materials/lab fee.): $890 *Financial aid available

Location: Vashon High School Woodshop, Room 1105

Class Level: Intermediate (must have completed Woodworking Basics or instructor permission)

A woodworker needs a place to store their hand tools, and even better if those tools can travel with them. Build your own strong, lightweight traveling tool chest from Sitka spruce using hand-cut dovetail joints in this hands-on course. Through expert instruction and guided practice, strengthen your project planning skills, build confidence with both hand and power tools, learn the fundamentals of hand-cut dovetail joinery, and leave with a tool chest that will serve you for years to come.
