What is Vashon Makerspace?

Several island organizations and businesses have supported building a makerspace for Vashon. These include the Vashon Tool Library, the King County – Vashon Library, the Vashon School District, and a large group of volunteers. The Makerspace Advisory Group was formed to work out the details of how a makerspace might be organized, including what tools and resources would be included, where it would be located, how membership might work, and a host of other issues. Woodworking, metalworking, and other tools continue to be collected and are awaiting an appropriate space to be installed. We are happy to report that the woodworking studio opened for use in March 2026!
