Donations keep us going!

We are a volunteer team, but that’s not the only way to help out. Your donations help expand our programs, buy supplies to keep the tools in top-top shape, and keep the lights on. For that, we thank you.

There are many ways to fund the program:

Paypal – it’s the fastest and easiest.

Other ways to give besides paypal – Other ways to give – Please consult a certified tax accountant or financial planner prior to making significant gifts to any charity. You are urged to consult your own tax advisor regarding the particular consequences of charitable contributions. 

Gift in Your Will or Living Trust: A legacy bequest to the Vashon Makerspace (EIN 81-3503206) at PO Box 1235 Vashon, WA 98070 will enhance community building on Vashon and Maury Islands for many years to come.

Gift of Appreciated Securities: When you donate appreciated securities or mutual funds you have held more than one year in support of community resource building you can potentially reduce or even eliminate federal capital gains taxes on the transfer. Contact  [email protected] for help with that.

Making a Tax-Free Gift with an IRA: Under the new tax laws if you are 72½ years old or older you can use required minimum distributions (RMDs) from your individual retirement account for a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) and the amount (up to $100,000) will not be taxed as income. Talk to your IRA manager as to how to do this.

Proceeds from Sales and Events: We are honored that businesses and groups wish to donate to the Vashon MakerSspace. If you would like to contribute in this way please contact [email protected] to coordinate dates and activities.
